Found this Flickr Slideshow with some stunning pictures of Wellington and its surrounding areas http://www.flickr.com/photos/peter_from_wellington/show/with/598362404/
Well its been over a month since my last post. This is mainly due to the fact that I have been using all my time frantically preparing for my trip to New Zealand. I can’t remember the last day I didn’t have a paint roller in my hand.
For those that don’t know, I am leaving on the 12th of January 2009 to live in New Zealand (Wellington to be precise) for 2 years….. I can’t wait. This is all possible because ‘The Wife’ has landed a Job out there working for Audit New Zealand. There are lots of things I am going to miss in the UK, not just the obvious Family and Friends but my whole day to day life in the UK, I can honestly say that Myself and Shona have had an absolute blast in the last 2 years and will be very sad to say goodbye, neither of us can remember enjoying ourselves so much as we have done recently.
Without wanting to start sounding like a male version of Bridget Jones, I thought I could use this blog to set out a list of key objectives for the trip and then come back to them now and again throughout the 2 years to see how close I am to achieving them.
1) To be able to spend more time with Shona (’er in doors)
2) To visit every corner of New Zealand
3) Lose some weight (about time)
4) To slow down. (This is going to be hardest to try and quantify, but I’ll think of something)
5) To go and watch as much live sport as I can. (Go the Pheonix!)
6) To play more golf! (may conflict with point 1)
I will add/remove more in time, but this gives me something to be getting on with.
For the last couple of months all I have been doing is reading up on the country that we will be visiting. Here are some of my favourite write ups Touring New Zealand: An Insider’s Guide, this one has some great pictures. This is dedicated to Wellington.
